ABOUT US

Fuel made simple.

A shared desire to be part of the solution

CNF was founded in November 2022 by Alasdair Lumsden and Sophie Zienkiewicz, after meeting at the United Nations COP26 climate conference. Driven by a mutual ambition to create lasting positive impact on the world, Alasdair & Sophie view e-fuels as the key to enabling rapid decarbonisation in the long distance transport sector.

POLICIES

Business should be a force for good. As a young organisation, we want to show that responsible business can be done from the start and we will work to maintain these values as we grow.

Read our Environmental Policy and Equality and Equity Policy to understand our commitments to responsible business and explore what initiatives we have implemented to ensure these values are upheld throughout our business operations.

We know these documents will develop over time and we are always wanting to learn. If there is an initiative you think we should be supporting or an idea you have to help us improve, please get in touch!

Creating a positive impact on people and the planet is at the core of Carbon Neutral Fuels and we are delighted to be a supporter of the following organisations.

  • Three quarters of people in the UK think businesses have a responsibility to protect the environment.

The Better Business Act is an initiative created by b-Lab and supported by over 1900 businesses in the UK. It aims to transform the way we do business, requiring companies to take ownership of their social and environmental impact in order to benefit society above all else.

You can join the campaign here.

  • The Living Wage Foundation accredits Living Wage Employers for their commitment to paying their staff according to the real cost of living.

Currently, National Living Wage is £9.50 for those 23 and older but the Real Living Wage is in fact much higher at £10.90 (£11.95 in London).

At Carbon Neutral Fuels, all employees, interns and contractors are paid at least the Real Living Wage, regardless of their age. We recognise the value in investing in people and creating a culture which supports our business values and beliefs.

  • The Better Business Network is a community for like-minded businesses that want to drive action and create a lasting positive impact.

The network is full of purpose driven businesses who have access to events, tools, resources and workshops to help them only grow but also to increase their social and environmental impact.

We are proud to be a part of the Network and collaborate alongside other likeminded business in driving collective action.

They promote the education of women in engineering and work closely with the public and education organisations to improve access to engineering opportunities for all.

In 2014, WES founded International Women in Engineering Day (INWED), held annually on 23 June to raise the profile of women in engineering and focus attention on the amazing career opportunities available in the industry.
